Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making History All Day accessible to everyone, what we do, known limitations, and how to get help.
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Cupcakes Holdings LTD, the publisher of History All Day, is committed to making historyallday.com (the "Site") accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. History belongs to everyone, and so should the stories we tell about it.
Questions and feedback about accessibility may be sent only to [email protected].
1. Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning and neurological disabilities. We also take into account the requirements of the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013 and Israeli Standard 5568, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the European Accessibility Act and the UK Equality Act 2010, to the extent applicable.
2. What we do
Measures we take to support accessibility include:
- a simple, consistent page structure with semantic HTML, a logical heading hierarchy and landmark regions;
- text that can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or function, and responsive layouts that work on phones, tablets and desktops;
- readable typography, generous line spacing and colour contrast intended to meet WCAG AA ratios;
- descriptive alternative text and captions for images, including credits for historical photographs and artworks;
- descriptive link text and headlines that make sense out of context;
- keyboard-accessible navigation without keyboard traps;
- no content that flashes more than three times per second;
- no auto-playing audio;
- fast, lightweight pages that work on slow connections and older devices; and
- an RSS feed so that readers can follow our stories in the reader or assistive tool of their choice.
3. Compatibility
The Site is designed to be compatible with recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge) and with common assistive technologies, including screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS and TalkBack, and browser zoom and magnification tools.
4. Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible:
- Historical images and documents. Scans of old documents, maps and handwritten material may be difficult to read, and alternative text may not capture every detail. Where the text of a document is important to a story, we try to describe or quote it in the body of the story.
- Archive content. Some older stories from our archive were published before our current standards and may have less complete image descriptions. We are reviewing these progressively.
- Third-party content. Advertising, embedded media and links to external sites are provided by third parties and may not meet the same standards. We encourage our partners to make their content accessible.
5. Feedback and assistance
We welcome your feedback. If you encounter any barrier on the Site, need a story or image in an alternative format, or have suggestions for improvement, please email [email protected] with the subject line "Accessibility". Please include the page URL, a description of the problem, and the browser and assistive technology you are using, if any.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 5 business days and to propose a solution or timeline within 10 business days.
6. Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We review the Site periodically, test new templates and features against WCAG criteria before release, and update this statement as we make improvements.
